I remember very clearly the first time I ever helped someone with their singing.

It was in an NYU dorm basement and my friend Lisa was struggling with parts of "Suddenly Seymour," a song she had been assigned as part of the musical theater summer program we were both attending. She couldn’t figure it out so I listened to my instincts and gave her some advice on how to navigate the challenging sections. Shockingly, it worked. She sounded and felt better. This was the first voice lesson I ever taught.

In that moment, I tapped into something that would set the tone for my teaching career: the desire to help.

“Amanda has literally TRANSFORMED my voice. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for her training and supporting and loving spirit.”

—- Devon Hadsell (Some Like It Hot, Mean Girls)

Lessons are available with either myself or my associate teacher, Hannah Lundy Connell.

My specialty is working with professional singers who have specific technical needs, including those who have sustained vocal injuries or struggle with vocal health issues.

Hannah's specialty is working with beginning and developing singers, especially teens and dancers.

We will help figure out who is the best fit for you! If you would like to work with us, you can start the process here.

What To Expect In A Voice Session

Sessions are focused on technical troubleshooting and voice development. Specific technical concerns will be addressed through vocal, physical, and hands-on exercises.

Amanda's specialty is working with professional singers who have specific technical needs, including those who have sustained vocal injuries, or struggle with vocal health issues. Hannah's specialty is working with beginning and developing singers, especially teens and dancers.

We will also look at repertoire in your session and apply the technical concepts to your rep. The focus always remains on technique, not audition prep or book building. Amanda and Hannah both play the piano well enough for technical focus, but are not professional accompanists.

If you're looking to sing through material with a pianist, find new audition rep, or learn callback music for an audition, you might be looking for a repertoire or vocal coach, not a voice teacher. We are happy to refer our technique clients to some excellent repertoire coaches for their rep and audition needs.

    How to Schedule a Session

To allow Amanda and Hannah to focus on teaching, all scheduling is done via email to the fabulous Studio Manager, Maggie, at Maggie@amandaflynnvoice.com.

When you email to request lessons, please let us know some dates and times you would be available so we can get you on the calendar as quickly as possible!

The schedule is always open a month in advance. So on 2/6 the schedule is open through 3/6, on 5/25 the schedule is open through 6/25, etc.

The studio keeps date- and time-specific waitlists so that we are better able to offer you lessons that work in your schedule. In the event of a cancellation, we offer lessons to clients on the waitlist in the order they joined.

All waitlists are also open a month in advance. Due to constantly changing availability on all sides, we are unfortunately unable to "auto-renew” your waitlist availability past when the schedule is open at any given time.
